ATM DEBIT CARDS NIGERIANS CAN USE ON THE INTERNET FOR WORLDWIDE PAYMENTS
Virtually all banks in Nigeria issue ATM debit cards but at the moment the GTBank Naira MasterCard, UBA Africard, Zenith Bank Mastercard Websurfer, and Zenith Bank Visa Prepaid Buxz cards are some of the most reliable payment cards you can use on the Internet for your online transactions here in Nigeria to make payments worldwide. The Fidelity Bank debit card which the bank offers to its customers who have at least a Savings Account with them is also reported to be a good online payment option.
GTBank will let you have a Naira MasterCard ATM debit card when you open an account with them (Current or Savings Account). You can start using the card for your international online transactions by going to any branch of the bank to activate the card for Internet banking, you will be able to use it for your online purchases and payments worldwide, anywhere you see the MasterCard logo on the Internet. Just go to any GTBank branch and ask to see the Customer Service people or the person in charge of card services. Tell them you want to apply for “Internet Banking” or want to be profiled for Internet Banking and would want to apply for a “Token”. A Token is a small security hardware like a key holder that generates a set of numbers which will enable secure transfers via the Internet banking platform. It generates a random password which will then be keyed in after the password to enable transfer. You can use the GTBank Naira MasterCard to order for products online or pay for services anywhere on the Internet wherever you see the MasterCard logo.
For now, let me concentrate on the easiest of them to get – the UBA Visa Prepaid card, called UBA Africard, issued by United Bank of Africa (UBA). The UBA Africard is one card you would want to consider and virtually the easiest to obtain. The UBA Visa Prepaid card (Africard) is a debit card variant denominated in Naira and is pre-funded and re-loadable. It is internationally accepted in all Visa acceptance points (ATM, PoS & Web). Card holders do not need to have an account with UBA in order to obtain this card, and the card can be obtained from any branch of UBA. The card is of two types; the personalized and the non-personalized types. I will advise you to go for the non-personalized type because you can instantly obtain it just immediately after applying for it.
All you need to apply for the UBA Africard is a valid form of identity, particularly a government-issued ID, which could be an international passport, driver's license or National Identity Card, or even the Voter’s Registration Card (in line with the new CBN directive).
You need a minimum of N500 (five hundred naira) to obtain this UBA Africard prepaid card, although in some cases you can get it even without paying a dime.
This card has a 10 digit number on it. This number serves as your account number. To fund the card, simple pay into the account number at the counter.
NOTE: Although the aforementioned cards are widely accepted online, you cannot use them to effect payment on some sites on the Internet. Some sites may reject them while some do not have provisions for accepting them. For example, Clickbank products cannot be procured using most Nigerian prepaid card. Most Clickbank products require a PayPal login before you can buy products on the site, so your Nigerian prepaid card will not be useful to you on www.clickbank.com. However, so many other sites, particularly the China based B2B sites like Aliexpress.com and DHgate.com will accept the card. You can also use these cards to make online payments for your web hosting service with Hostgator.com; domain name service with Namecheap.com or GoDaddy.com; autoresponder service with TrafficWave.net, Getresponse.com, Aweber.com. To cap it all, you can use these cards on many websites that accept the usual Visa and MasterCard. You can use them on websites like Amazon.com, Namecheap.com, Getresponse.com, Aweber.com, Aliexpress.com (to order PCs, tablets and other electronic gadgets from China), and DHgate.com (to purchase electronics, PCs, tablets, computer accessories, cell phones and accessories, jewelleries, handbags, clothes and so on from China) and Web4africa.net (to buy domain name and webhosting).

About Interswitch

The company is an independent, private sector led, Limited Liability Company (LLC) focused on facilitating the exchange of value between service providers (financial, telecommunications and utilities), merchants, their customers, and other stakeholders on a timely and continuous basis nationwide.
What is Naira MasterCard?
Naira MasterCard is a debit card denominated in Naira issued in partnership with MasterCard Inc. and banks like GTBank and FirstBank here in Nigeria. Naira Mastercard cardholders can use their cards to make payments online to procure products and services without having to drive through traffic to get to the bank nor join lengthy bank queues.
Banks like GTBank and FirstBank will let you have a Naira MasterCard ATM debit card when you open an account with them (Current or Savings account). Once this card is activated for Internet banking, you can use it for your online purchases and payments worldwide, anywhere you see the MasterCard logo on the Internet. You can use it to order for products online or pay for services. However, you have to activate it to start using it for online payments and purchases. To activate it, do the following (we will be using GTBank in this tutorial):
[1]. Go to any of their branches and ask to see the Customer Service people or the person in charge of card services. Tell them you want to apply for Internet Banking or want to be profiled for Internet Banking and would want to apply for a “Token”. A Token is a small security hardware like a key holder that generates a set of numbers which will enable secure transfers via the Internet banking platform. It generates a random password which will then be keyed in after the password to enable transfer. The use of Token is strongly recommended for the individual user. All customers that want to activate their Internet banking accounts are usually advised to request for a token to further secure their accounts from unauthorized transfers. The set of numbers generated should be entered when you are doing any transaction on these banks’ websites. Like I had earlier said, it is also required for the activation of your ATM card for online payments. The bank will debit N2,100 - N3,000 or so for the Token once you log into their site to activate it. You will get the Token device that very day (or they will ask you to come back for it another day) together with a PIN which you need to change in the process of activating your Internet Banking account on their site.
[2]. After getting your Token and Internet Banking details from the bank, go to their website e.g. www.gtbank.com to activate your ATM card for online payment. For you to know you are on a secure connection and not a cloned website ensure there is “https” is in your browser’s address bar when you login. Fraudsters and hackers can create phishing websites to deceive you into thinking you are on the real website, so always check to see if your spellings of their URL is correct and ensure that there is “https” in it whenever you are logged in, for example https://ibank.gtbank.com/ibank3/ . Now, click on "Login" under "Internet Banking" and then enter your Internet Banking account user details which should have been given to you in a sealed envelope at the bank or sent to your email address. Enter the login details and once inside your account, click on "Get Activation Code" button.
[3]. On the next page, follow the instructions provided and fill the form on the page. Select your card type (MasterCard) and enter the expiry date (which you will find on your ATM card e.g. 02/15 but enter the date without the slash ( /) sign e.g. 0215) and then press the little button on your Token. It should display some digits, type in those digits and click on the "Submit" button.
[4]. A code will be generated for you after clicking the Submit button. The generation of the code means your ATM card has been activated. Keep this online activation code away from anybody except yourself.
[5]. Your Naira MasterCard (ATM card) is now ready for making online payments anywhere you see the MasterCard secured logo on the Internet. The code generated will be required every time you want to make payment online with the card.
MAKING PAYMENTS WITH YOUR NAIRA MASTERCARD OR INTERSWITCH VERVE CARD
When making payments on any website that accepts these forms of Payment (i.e. either MasterCard or InterSwitch Verve), you will be required to fill in or enter your card details after clicking the "Order" or "Buy" button on the website:
• For ‘Card Type’ choose MasterCard or Verve.
• For ‘Card Holder's Name’, you are required to enter your name as it is written on your ATM card e.g. AJAYI HARUNA FEMI.
• For your ‘Card Number’ use the long number on top of your ATM card, which is commonly 16 digit on most debit cards.
• For ‘Expiry Date’ enter the date as it is on your card; for example 02/16, but remove the slash (/) sign.
• For your ‘CVV Number’ enter the three-digit security code at the back of your card, for example 435. CVV OR CVV2 means Card Verification Value.
• Confirm or complete the process and wholla that’s all!

HOW TO USE ONLINE FORUMS TO MAKE MONEY FROM INTERNET OR AFFILIATE MARKETING
Online forums are electronic boards on the internet. Individual users post messages, comments, questions and other forms of data on these boards from different parts of the world for people to see and meet minds together. Messages that appear on the boards are arranged in topics or categories. To be part of an online forum (also called internet forums), simply log onto their website and signup. Your e-mail address is usually required for you to signup and post messages. Visitors or non-members can only view the messages and comments; they cannot post their own messages or comments.
In other words an online forum is a virtual community of like-minded people, who meet from time to time to meet minds together, share ideas and opinions, discuss issues, ask and answer questions, and much more.
As an internet marketer the benefits of online forums to you are so many. Online forums provide the platform for you to market and promote your own products or affiliate products for FREE at no extra cost! They also provide the medium for you to make sales without having to meet people face-to-face. Better yet, all online forums are usually open 24 hours daily which gives you the flexibility to promote your internet identity or products at any particular point in time.
As a “Beginner internet’ Marketer” online forums give you the opportunity to sell or promote products and services without expending your hard earned money on advertisement. They also provide a platform for you to test peoples’ acceptability of your product or service.
Below you will find the strategies or tips of using online forums to make money without getting your fingers burnt.
• Tip 1 – Find at least 2 or 3 forums on your niche, particularly those with large membership base and high Page Ranks (PR) on search engines like Google; and sign up with them.
• Tip 2 – After signing up or registering with them, set up your signature line which is where you will put your name and links. You will need to make good use of your signature. You can place a link within the signature portion of your profile. Your signature gets shown in each post you make; hence if viewers of your post pick interest in what you have posted, they may click on your link to get to your site or blog, or affiliate website.
• Tip 3 – Now that you have joined a couple of forums or more, take your time to go through different posts. At the end of the whole thing you should be able to come up with some questions frequently asked by the forum members or some pressing problems facing some members of the forums.
• Tip 4 – Nothing sells like the solutions to the needs of group of people; so settle down to prepare sincere answers (solution) to these questions or problems, preferably in the form of a simple report or write-up. Make sure this report proffers solutions to their problems or adequately answers their questions. The report can be prepared on a Notepad file or MS word file or using the free editor Note Tab Light at http://www.notetab.com. Prepare the report while offline and save in a local directory on your computer or USB flash drive.
When you get back online fetch out the report from your flash drive or from the local directory where you had stored it on your computer to post it for FREE! Simply copy and paste it in the required fields and submit/post.
IMPORTANT! Instead of trying to make blatant sales on the forums, it would be better you sell back-end products inside the free reports which have to do with what people yearn for. You can also place your links or affiliate links in the free report, but don’t try spamming by placing more than a couple of your links in it. Make your report look a lot less “salesy”. However, if you are placing a link in the report cloak the URL using free cloaking and redirection services like http://www.tinyurl.com, http://www.snipurl.com, http://www.is.gd, http://www.budurl.com, http://bit.ly, http://www.linkbrander.com and http://goo.gl
• Tip 5 – Forum members usually see internet marketers as spammers and fraudsters until you prove yourself trustworthy. So, as a recommendation don’t try promoting or selling anything in any particular forum until you have made at least 20 posts. You need to gain the trust and respect of forum members before you start trying to sell products or services to them. If you don’t follow this simple rule you might end up not selling anything!
• Tip 6 – Another way you can gain the respect of forum members is to be more focused on posting comments and answers to their questions, instead of asking them questions. When you post questions instead of answers you are perceived as a novice. However, you can post questions in response to other questions to enable you find out more from them so that you will be able to design a solution which will really meet the questions. Forming the habit of posting answers to questions on forums will make the forum members see you as an expert instead of a novice. You also gain respect and good reputation; such that when you recommend a product or service (like an affiliate product you are promoting), they wouldn’t be suspicious about the offer.
• Tip 7 – it is also paramount that you visit these forums that you have joined a few times a week. Let the forum members see you as an active member and a valuable contributor. This will further enhance your status in the forums.
• Tip 8 – Make sure you read each forum rules and regulations before you start posting on it. Every forum has its own set of rules and regulations. Take a moment of your time to read them before you start posting. These rules and regulations are often posted as a sticky post at the uppermost top of the forum.
• Tip 9 – Protect your real identity on internet forums, except you feel like promoting your real identity. Protect your identity by signing up with pseudonyms instead of your real name.
• Tip 10 – Each forum has a set of rules. If broken, a ban may be placed on the erring member. When you are banned, don’t panic, simply open a new email address and sign up again with it using a new pseudonym.

DISCOVER HOW TO PROMOTE AFFILIATE PRODUCTS AND OTHER BUSINESSES THROUGH ONLINE GROUPS AND GET INCREDIBLE RESULTS FOR FREE
Online Groups, also called Email Groups, are Internet (online) forums where like-minded people can choose to participate in group discussions and meeting of minds via email, the web or both. And there is a permanent shared record of the work of the group.
Online Groups take the pain out of group email collaboration by giving a group an email address and inbox. A group has a feature that makes it possible for you to email everyone in the group with one email address (that is the group’s email address). Online groups are more like email messaging systems that enable you make group posts to get information to group members, although online groups also have other excellent features. The email messaging system built into a group can be used to send information to the members of the group via email. You can use a group to send an email out to the entire group, without having to send everyone an email separately. With a single click everybody gets a copy of your email and can reply from their email clients.
The beauty of using online groups for your promotion
Email dominates online communication. Almost every web user has an email address and inbox that they use all the time. If you are into affiliate products promotion or any other kind of business promotion, you can use an online group to send bulk emails to so many people to market your product(s) at no extra cost. You can create a Group and use it as an email list building system. But it is far much easier if you can join an already existing group in your niche which has a large membership base.
Becoming a member of a group in your niche will ensure you have a group of people to market to, from time to time. Business promotion with Groups allows you to get good response and immense results for free - no advertisement costs or overheads.
Where you can find groups to join on the internet
There are many places to find Groups to join on the internet. You can conduct a search for “online groups” on the internet via Search Engines like Google.com, Bing.com and Yahoo.com but the following sites are usually the best places to dig out quality Groups on the internet:
• Yahoo Groups, http://groups.yahoo.com
• Google Groups, http://groups.google.com
• Facebook Groups, http://facebook.com/groups
• Onlinegroups, http://www.onlinegroups.net
• Multiply Groups, http://multiply.com/search/groups
• Linkedin Groups, http://www.linkedin.com/directory/groups/
• World Groups, http://www.worldgroups.com
• Free Lists, http://www.freelists.org/
• Catalyst (official catalog of LISTSERVTM lists), http://www.lsoft.com/catalist.html
• Flickr, http://www.flickr.com/groups
When you visit any of the aforementioned sites, browse through their categories to search for groups or mailing lists of interest, and then join. The size of the group (mailing list) matters a lot. Try looking for groups with larger membership bases. To find large groups with no maximum limit of members, try conducting your search on mailing list hosting websites like Yahoo Groups, Google Groups, Facebook Groups, and LinkedIn Groups.
There’s no maximum limit of members in Yahoo groups, Google groups, and LinkedIn groups. In Yahoo groups there are also no maximum posts per day. Meaning that users can make unlimited posts; but in a case where one single member sends too many emails within an hour, that member will be tagged as a spammer and get an auto-responder message. That hourly limit is however unknown.
However, when considering groups to join, size isn’t really the only issue. It isn’t just the number of members that matters, the degree of member participation also matters. You need a large group with a high degree of engagement. Don’t forget to check whether the group is still very much active or not. To check, simply scroll down the homepage of the group (that has attracted your interest) to see if there are any recent postings to the group or not. The more recent postings you find in a group, the more active the group will be.
Finally, make sure you only join groups discussing topics related to the products or business you want to promote.
The secrets of promoting affiliate products and other business with online groups
• Join large groups with a high degree of member participation. You need a large but active group with discussions centered on the niche you are interested in or the product you want to promote.
• Join as many groups as you can. The more groups you join, the more members you can promote to. For a start join as many as 50 groups!
When you start getting results, you can join even more groups. It won’t be an uphill task if you join up to 500 groups or so in due course! You should have membership of several groups, which means different niches combined. Niches like making money, business opportunities, relationships and sex, love and dating, looking younger, and staying healthy tend to appeal to the general public. Groups centered on any of these niches would normally be very vibrant; hence marketing to people in these groups could get you quick results.
• Set up a separate email ID for your campaigns as you will also be getting loads of promotional messages and all sort of other messages from the members of the groups you have joined, almost like every day. Don’t join any online group (or mailing list) with your usual email address unless you want to be bombarded with messages every now and then! Sign up for a new email account, which is what you should be using to join the groups (mailing lists) that interest you.
• Opt for emails to be sent to you in abridged formats. This will help you save your email inbox space. In other words, this won’t take up too much of your inbox space.
• To send ads or promotional emails to the members of the groups you have joined, send them in text format (not html) as most people prefer the text format and also many email systems cannot open html type emails.
• Put this in your mind, your subject line is the most important part of every email you send! The subject line of your emails needs to be catchy. It needs to be the type that can catch the attention of your prospects even before they consider opening the mail. If your subject line can pique the curiousity of your prospects, they won’t resist reading more. If the subject line (or heading) of your promotional email grabs the attention of the prospect, you are halfway to a sale! The best way to create an attention grabbing subject line (or headline) is to try asking a question in the subject line. That usually gets people curious enough to click through. Here’s an example, “How Would You Like To Own Your Own Business Today?” I would also recommend you to capitalize the first letter in each word you have in your subject line, or perhaps the whole characters in the subject line. This tends to make your subject line (or headline) noticeable.
• Group posts in an online group can be an effective way to get information to the group members but using the email messaging system built into a group can be far much more effective, because it sends the information to the members of the group via email. Remember, a group has a feature that makes it possible for you to email everyone in the group with just one email address (which is the group’s email address). You can save a groups’ email address into your email contacts and send an email out to the entire group easily, without having the need to keep track of everyone’s new addresses and adding new ones who have joined the group. Anyone in a group can email that address and the whole group gets a copy and can reply from their email clients or on the web. A typical Facebook group will have something like groupname@groups.facebook.com as a group email address; and a typical Google group will have something like groupname@googlegroups.com .
• To send ads or promotional messages to each group, you would have to send emails manually to one group at a time; so, if you have joined 50 groups you would have to send a particular email 50 times. But there’s a simple way out: create a folder and put in it all the email addresses of the groups you have joined and when you want to send out a promotional email, just open the compose page and in the ‘send to’ field copy and paste all the email addresses. Write an attractive title for your message in the subject line (or subject field). Write the promotional email in the description box (compose field) which should contain your affiliate links if you are trying to promote an affiliate product, and then send. This gets your message to all the groups at one go, and simultaneously to everyone in the groups! This way, you will be able to get your promotional message to a large number of prospects without much effort.
• As a recommendation, try typing your promotional messages while offline. Keep it short – this makes it easy for them to get what you are selling or promoting. People are so crunched for time these days, and they receive so many emails, that they won’t have all day to read your email if you make it long. It is also recommended that you avoid using too much hype! A little bit of hype is okay, but don’t go overboard. People are just tired of hypes. Too much hype will make whatever you are promoting sound ludicrous. You also need to be yourself and warm people up to you – give them a short paragraph about yourself and your experience with whatever you are selling; give them something and someone they can relate to, but remember to keep it short. Moreover, you should also try to keep out the typos – proof read your messages before you send them out. Yes, everyone makes an occasional mistake but too many typographical errors may get prospects running away from you. Nobody wants to buy from, or do business with a dumb person! Don’t also forget the importance of your subject line (headline). Remember, your subject line is the single most important part! It needs to pique the curiousity of your prospects, so that they won’t resist clicking through to read more.
After typing your message offline and going through it to correct the typos, save it in a local directory on your computer or in a flash drive. Copy and paste it when you get back online.
• Put the prospect in a buying frame of mind, not to try and sell to them in the ad. Your message should put the prospect in a buying mood and have them click on your link to the sales page, and let the sales page do the selling. The guideline that will increase your conversion rates is to point out the pains the prospects must have incurred or may incur, and then persuade him or her with the gains or pleasure (benefits) they stand to get from your product. When stating the “benefits” or likely gains, use power words that sell, and make sure you make these power words bold and underlined.
Below is an example of promotional email trying to sell an affiliate product that teaches people how to make money from promoting other people’s products on the internet. The message has in some way deployed some of the aforementioned tips and strategies:
Subject: How Would You Like Creating A Perfect Income Stream?
Hello Friend!
I’m William Terry, an internet Marketing Entrepreneur. I have made quite a fortune promoting other people’s products on the internet without spending a dime on advertisements, and still earn far much more than those who advertise! In fact, this is the only thing I do for a living!
A few years ago, I tried my hands on a number of online “businesses” – Forex Trading, Adsense, HYIPs, Website Flipping, Network Marketing, Blogging, PPC Marketing, Fixed Odds Betting, etc – but got my fingers burnt. Suffering from bankruptcy, I desperately searched for a way out but all to no avail until I came across what I’m about to reveal to you.
I am happy to reveal to you these proven and tested methods to stop you from going through the kind of pain I went through before discovering the jackpot!
Proven and Tested – Has worked for everyone, both newbies and oldsters, and will definitely work for you.
Easy – These methods are really quite simple and easy to use. You don’t have to be a computer guru to use them.
Little or Zero-Startup – You only need just a little or even zero startup capital to start!
Click Here XXXXX To Learn More or Order.
You will be so glad with the results you will get!
You will notice that the above promotional message seemed so simple on the surface, but it may do well to compel the prospect to carry out the action you want him or her to do because it pointed out the pains previously incurred and the pains to avoid, then pin-pointed the pleasure (or benefits) to gain.
Now, just imagine if there are 1,000,000 total members in all the groups you have joined; and after receiving your promotional email only 1% of them clicked on the affiliate link in your email, meaning you are going to have 10,000 visits through your affiliate link to the affiliate sales page. The 10,000 visits you get won’t all translate into sales or conversion. But, even if just only 1% of the 10,000 visits convert into sales you would still get 100 sales from your affiliate link which will no doubt earn you substantial amount of commissions for free – no advertisement costs or overheads.
Final words of advice
Email marketing is directly marketing a commercial message to a group of people using electronic mail-email. In its broadest sense, every email sent to a potential or current customer could be considered email marketing. Therefore, using online groups to market can also be considered as email marketing. The tips and strategies in this short report can also be applied in other forms of email marketing. So also, the challenges in email marketing are also the challenges that must be met in online group marketing in order to achieve a desired level of success. The three major challenges are:
- Getting your email into your audience’s inbox.
- Getting the recipient to open your email.
- Getting the recipient to act on your email.
Email marketing and online groups when used as an email marketing system are some of the fastest, easiest methods of getting your ads out to potential prospects, but you need to use them effectively to convert the ad views to sales. If you can meet the three aforementioned challenges by following the tips and strategies in this special report religiously, you are very much likely to achieve desirable results in your campaigns. However, if you don’t follow these tips and strategies rightly, your email ads may just end up being deleted by your potential prospects.

5 TOP AFFILIATE NETWORKS TO GET YOU STARTED IN AFFILIATE MARKETING ON ALMOST ZERO STARTUP COST
Affiliate Marketing is a business model that allows you to receive a commission for generating a transaction, such as a sale or lead, for a merchant that you are promoting. The merchant site provides its ads or affiliate links to you and assigns a commission for each task it wants to accomplish. As an affiliate you place these links or ads on your website, or blog, or in such places like email contents, search listings, articles, e-books, internet forum postings and so on. Whenever a visitor uses any of these links to generate an action on the merchant’s site, the transaction is tracked online and you get paid a commission for that transaction if the visitor carries out the desired action.
To get yourself started in Affiliate Marketing on almost zero start-up cost you will need to sign up with one or a couple of Affiliate Networks. Affiliate Networks are loaded with a list of affiliate products/programs that you can promote to earn commissions. The main convenience an Affiliate Network has over independent affiliate programs is that you only need to log into one place to see the statistics for the numerous programs you are promoting within that network.
More also, Affiliate Networks usually have more integrity when it comes to paying you your commissions. They usually pay you on time and don’t usually default in their payment of commissions. The independent sites on the other hand have had reported cases of not paying their affiliates after generating the required outcomes.
Furthermore, most Affiliate Networks combine all your commissions of the numerous programs or products you are promoting onto one check (cheque) whenever your commissions accumulated reach the minimum payout threshold. You don’t have to be striving to get checks (cheques) from different sources, which may be difficult and time consuming.
There are tons of Affiliate Networks but I highly recommended the following places, particularly www.clickbank.com and www.cj.com. Clickbank is by far the easiest for Beginner Affiliates, however the rest are equally good.
1. Clickbank – http://www.clickbank.com : is a leader in the Affiliate network industry with over 11,000 merchants. You get paid commissions ranging from 5% to 75%. The products on Clickbank are basically digital or downloadable products, so the merchants can afford to offer very high commission for each sale you generate. Downloadable or digital products like e-books, e-newsletters, e-zine, e-courses, music, games, softwares, videos and so on can be created with little or almost no money. They can be reproduced in any quantity – it is as simple as copying a file. Even if the merchant sells a million copies, production costs stays at zero; hence, Clickbank merchants can afford to pay very high commissions.
Clickbank programs are mainly CPS (cost per sale), meaning you only earn a commission if the visitor completes a sale on the merchant site you direct him/her to. They have Real-Time statistics and conversion tracking that is patent pending. People don’t usually buy products the first time they visit a merchant’s website. It often takes some days for the purchases to start. However, Clickbank places a cookie in the visitor’s computer for 90 days so that you will get credit for the sales.
With Clickbank you get paid every two weeks once your commissions reach your selected minimum payout threshold. No website is required to join Clickbank (meaning you can register with Clickbank even without having a website of your own.).
2. Commission Junction – http://www.cj.com : is a ‘top dog’ in the Affiliate Network industry. In a nutshell, they are massive. There are thousands upon thousands of merchants or affiliate programs to choose from within this network. They offer CPM (which means getting paid for impression for putting a pop-up or banner ad on your site); CPC (Cost Per Click, where you earn commission when a visitor goes to your website and clicks on any of your affiliate links); CPL (Cost Per Lead, where you earn commission for every visitor you lead to the merchant’s site even if they don’t buy anything!); and CPA (Cost Per Action, which means the same thing as Cost Per Sale, where you get paid if the visitor completes a purchase on the merchant’s site). To find CPL programs on this network, simply conduct a search for ‘Advertisers’ using a single word ‘lead’ on their website.
Commission Junction have real-time statistics and a 2-tier commission program in place. You get paid monthly as long as your commissions accumulated reach their $25 minimum payout threshold. A website is required to join but you can join using a free blog, which you can set up at places like http://www.blogger.com or http://www.squidoo.com.
3. Linkshare – http://www.linkshare.com : this is also a huge Affiliate Network- somewhat similar to Commission Junction. You get paid commissions by CPL and CPA. They also have a 2-tier commission structure.
You can log onto the following link to locate CPL (Cost Per Lead or Pay Per Lead) programs on Linkshare:
http://alogin.linksynergy.com/php-bin/affiliate/join/scate.shtml?cate_id=-1
Press CTRL-F on your keyboard to get a search box. Type ‘flat fee’ into the search box to conduct your search for the lucrative pay-per-lead affiliate programs on this network.
4. Befree – http://www.reporting.net : This is an Affiliate network that has some of the largest clients on the internet. BeFree offers a commission for referrals from webmasters – you receive a commission for every signup. They offer CPS and CPL type of programs with multi-tier commission. BeFree also has a large number of merchants in their network. They are into a partnership with Commission Junction. A website is also required to join.
If you wish to promote CPL programs on BeFree, go to the search page of their website and use the drop down menu under ‘Commission Method’ to select ‘cost per lead’. Leave all other options to their default positions, and then click on the search button to get a list of BeFree merchants offering CPL programs.
5. Paydotcom – http://www.paydotcom.com : This network is somewhat similar to Clickbank. On the Paydotcom network you will find merchants even paying higher commissions than those obtainable on Clickbank! Paydotcom has lots of e-books and physical products. You get paid by PayPal or check (cheque). Like Clickbank, no website is required to join.
Affiliate Networks like Clickbank and Commission Junction make the payment of commissions to affiliates without authorization from the merchants. So you don’t have to worry whether the merchant will pay or not. However, with Paydotcom the merchant makes the decision to pay the affiliates and has to authorize Paydotcom to do so. This is the downside of working with Paydotcom.
In conclusion, there are many other decent Affiliate Networks out there; particularly ClickXchange.com, ClixGalore.com, ShareASale.com and WebSponsors.com but I found the 5 aforementioned ones to be the best places for you to get started as an Affiliate marketer.
NOTE:
Cost Per Action (CPA) – Advertiser/Merchant pays each time a visitor clicks on an ad, and takes some sort of action, whether it is a lead or sale.
Cost Per Click (CPC) – Advertiser/Merchant pays each time a visitor clicks on an ad. Clicks can be generated through PPC (Pay-Per-Click) Search Engine banners, text links, popups, other graphics, etc.
Cost Per Lead (CPL) – Advertiser/Merchant pays each time a visitor clicks on an ad, and fills out a signup form for something “free”. The purpose of this (for the Advertiser/Merchant) is to build a list of potential customers whom the Advertiser/Merchant can market to, over and over again.
Cost Per Impressions (CPM) – Advertiser/Merchant pays for ads viewed, every time the ads are viewed a certain number of times. For example in the case of Cost Per 1,000 Impressions, the Advertiser/Merchant pays for every 1,000 ads viewed. This includes banners and other size graphics. Additionally, this is how many emails and newsletters are sold (per 1,000 people the email is sent to).
Cost Per Sale (CPS) – Advertiser/Merchant pays an affiliate a percentage or fixed fee for a sale of a product or service, if the customer who made the purchase was referred to the Merchant’s site by the Affiliate.
